Membership in Rotary International carries two attendance requirements:
- A Rotarian has to be present for at least 60% of a meeting to receive attendance credit.
- Each six months, a Rotarian needs to attend at least 60% of the scheduled Reno Sunrise meetings. A minimum of 30% of the meetings attended must be at a scheduled Reno Sunrise meeting, with the balance being either at Reno Sunrise, or an approved make up meeting.
One of the many benefits of Rotary Club membership is the luxury of being able to travel the state, or the world and never miss a weekly meeting. Club members are welcomed and encouraged to visit clubs while traveling to make-up the meeting missed back home. Members can make up at a club across the city, or half way around the world.
A make up is to take place within 14 Days before or after a missed meeting. Make ups include:
- Attending another Rotary Club meeting
- Attending an Interact or Rotaract meeting
- Attending a Rotary International Convention or District Conference
- Attending a club service project or committee meeting that is approved by the Board
- Being present at the usual time and place of a regular meeting of another club for the purpose of attending a Rotary meeting, but that club is not meeting at that time or place
- Participating in an e-club web site interactive activity requiring an average of 30 minutes participation.
If a member is outside the member’s country of residence for more than 14 days, then the 14 day time restriction shall not apply.
It is the member’s responsibility to notify the club secretary when a meeting is made up. You can use this online make up form click here

A Rotarian can be excused from attendance requirements if the Rotarian’s age plus years in Rotary equals 85 or higher.
(NOTE: these are the basic Rotary International rules as set forth in the Rotary International Club By-Laws and the Manual of Procedure. Check these documents for more detailed information, or contact the Club Secretary.)
