Members of the Rotary Club of Reno Sunrise sold beer and wine at the Annual Bowers Mansion Bluegrass Festival held August 23-26.  This is one of the club's fundraising events with proceeds going to the Rotary Club of Reno Sunrise Charitable Foundation.

The beer was obtained from The Brewer's Cabinet and wine was obtained from Whispering Vine.  Please be sure the thank both businesses for helping us meet our fundraising goals.

Club members had plenty of time to enjoy the music and socialize with each other and the bluegrass fans.  It as a nice combination of good music and friendly fans in a layback mood.

The weather was mixed this year, which certainly influenced sales.  Friday was cold and windy and we found that wine outsold beer.  Saturday was cold and windy with sporadic showers which resulted in lower than expected sales.  As the last performance was taking the stage, there was a major cloudburst with lightening which sent fans and vendors running for cover.  Sunday turned out to be the most pleasant day of the festival and everyone appreciated the sunshine and warming temperatures.

We had remaining stock of beer, but club members rose to the occasion and purchased the remaining stock for their personal use, which helped out our foundation.  There is remaining stock of wine which will be offered for sale to members, but the rest will be returned to Whispering Vine.

Please give a special thanks to your club members and friends who helped out with the event: Carolyn Abend, Lynn Clark, John Albrecht, Charlie Fettig, Craig Sande, Martha Greene, Jon Greene (photography), Steve Schroder, Marcy Schroder, Harvey Miller, Dave Sundstrom, and Ryoko Koga.
