Trevor Macaluso, the CEO of the Eddy House was our speaker last week. The mission of Eddy House is to "create a safe environment for homeless and at-risk youth to develop the life and job skills necessary for sustainable independence. Eddy House works with youth aged 18 - 24. Many of their clients have aged out of foster care. Others have been kicked out of their home, or left their home for safety reasons. Eddy House provides a range of services from drop in services to 24 hour shelter services to social services. Services offered include Daily Life Skills classes, helping clients get essential documents (such as a state ID card), providing GED classes, and job referrals.
Eddy house also provides rental assistance, food assistance, a food pantry, and a clothing closet. Medical, dental, and mental health referrals are coordinated by Eddy House staff. Outreach teams work in the community to find homeless youth who will benefit from Eddy House programs.
Reno Sunrise, and a number of Reno/Sparks Rotary Clubs are supporters of Eddy House.
