Last Week's Presentation - Aquatic Invasive Species
Kevin Netcher, Aquatic Invasive Species Coordinator for Nevada Department of Wildlife informed attendees of the major invasive aquatic species that threaten our waterways and the interventions provided by the Nevada Department of Wildlife.

For example, quagga mussels, native to the Ukraine and unknowingly introduced into the U.S., are AIS that causes major clogging of water system pipes for irrigation, hydropower, drinking water supplies and can even clog up boat engines. Quagga mussels also disrupt food sources and habitat utilized by our fish.  Boat inspection and decontamination stations help to keep our waterways free of these harmful organisms.

Columbia Water Filter Project
This is a report from Jon Greene who are traveling to Columbia regarding the Columbia Water Filter Project:

There are 30 of us on the trip, all are either Rotarians or partners of Rotarians. The first half of our Colmbia adventure is 100% being tourist. Leave the hotel at 8 AM and return to the hotel around 6 PM. We did meet with the district 4281 District Governor elect, who has been active in Rotary youth exchange for many years, and she recognized me from when we have met at international conventions.
