Our speaker, Jake Wahrer, is the Vice President of Infrastructure and Technology at Northern Nevada HOPES, as well as the current president of the Rotary Club of Reno Central.  The mission of Northern Nevada HOPES is to provide affordable, high-quality medical, behavioral health, and support services for all.  We heard about the strategic placement of new facilities which brings affordable health care to where the care is needed.  Jake Wahrer provided an excellent overview of past projects and how they have made it possible for more of our residents to get the care that they need to be healthy and productive.

 

 

This past Saturday, 12 Reno Sunrise Rotarians participated in a Visioning Session (a.k.a. strategic planning).  The session ran from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and was facilitated by 4 Rotarians from our district who are specially trained as Visioning Facilitators.  The process has us look at a group of categories where we described where we saw our club in 3 years time.  We then voted for items in each category by placing dots by those items we each felt to be most important.  The items at the top of each list will be used to design detailed action plans to work toward the goals.

 

 

 

We won't see Dave at our next meeting because he will be participating in a 2-day training program with Shelter Box in Mason, Texas.  He is training to become an ambassador for the program and to receive training in deployment.  Nice work Dave!
