District Governor Jeff Gabriel was our speaker.  He spoke about his day job as Executive Director of the Eastern Sierra Interpretive Association (ESIA). 

 

Last Friday evening members of Reno Sunrise Rotary and friends/spouses enjoyed four comedian routines at the Laugh Factory after Happy Hour at Rum Bullions at the Silver Legacy Hotel & Casino.  It was a great evening.

Despite his shy and reclusive nature, member Doug Hill will be coming out of his shell to share his love of poetry.  He will be providing a short introduction to poetry and the reasons that he finds reading poetry so enjoyable.  This will be both pleasurable and enlightening.  Don't miss it!

This is just a reminder that we will be helping out at the Foodbank of Northern Nevada this Saturday from noon to 2 PM.  An email will be sent to those registered with details.

 

Reno Sunrise Rotary Club has been providing shoes to children in need for many years, as reported in the Rise and Shine bulletin in December, 2022.  As a result of inflationary prices, many families at Virginia Palmer Elementary School cannot afford to buy appropriate footwear for their children.  Our Happy Feet program has been a welcome relief for those families.  Thank you for supporting the Reno Sunrise Rotary Club Charitable Foundation as it allows us to continue important projects like this.

 

Martha Greene is proud to report that we are approaching a total of 1000 books donated to Palmer Elementary School.  Periodically she purchases fiction books at Grass Roots Books using funds from the Reno Sunrise Rotary Charitable Foundation.  At our weekly meetings our speaker signs a book.  These are then given to Palmer Elementary's School Library.  It has been a very successful and appreciated project.
