Last Week's Speaker - Jim Peckham (FISH)

At our last meeting September 9, Jim Peckham, Executive Director of F.I.S.H., spoke about their community agency which provides services to homeless clients, under housed clients, veterans and others in need of help.  They are based in Carson City, but also service clients in the Gardnerville/Minden area and Silver Springs/Dayton areas.  You may find more information at http://www.nvfish.com.
Reno Sunrise Sponsoring New Cause-Based Club
David Zybert, Clair Zybert and Phoebe Stears-Macauley (first president) attended our September 9 meeting to thank us for sponsoring their new cause-based club, the Rotary Club of International Exchange.  The focus of their club is to exchange ideas, thoughts, projects, and service across an international platform.  Many of their members will be living out of the area and participating via Zoom.  Jon Greene has agreed to be their mentor as they get underway.

Alaskan Cruise

John had a great Alaskan cruise.  Here he is shown at a stop on Icey Point Straight.  It is located on an island owned by the Hunik Nation.  I look forward to hearing of his excursion.
Last Week's Mystery Member

The September 9 Mystery Member was Charlie Fettig, seen here accompanied by his twin sisters and brother.  He can't recall the baby he is holding.
We can use more childhood photographs of members, so please get them to me.
Storm Drain Stenciling Project Rescheduled

We decided to cancel and reschedule the storm water drain stenciling project due to smoke from the Mosquito Fire.  It just wasn't worth placing volunteers health at risk.

The project has been rescheduled for Saturday morning, October 15.  We will first meet at the home of Charlie and Aggie Fettig for bagels and coffee, then head out to stencil the neighborhood drains.  See the sign up list sent out September 12 for details.  This project is not limited to membership and I would encourage you to invite friends or colleagues to help out and get see Rotarians in action.
