Last Week's Speaker - David Walthen
David Walthen, Chief Deputy Water Master, gave an excellent talk on a complex system of water rights and water flow regulation in the Truckee River System.  The TROA (Truckee River Operating Agreement), implemented in December 2015, provides a new approach to regulating flow in the Truckee River.  Rather than maintaining a fixed minimum flow measured at the Floriston station, end users can request a reduction in water which is banked for later use.  There was so much information to impart that we may need David to return in the future to expand upon the topic.
Youth Protection Pins
Jon Greene awarded (left to right) Charlie Fettig, Lynn Clark, and John Albrecht with Youth Protection Pins for completing the online Youth Protection Training.  All members are expected to complete this training and anyone with direct participation in youth services must be trained.  Jon will be sending out the link to our members who still need to complete training.  It takes only about 30-40 minutes and you will find the information useful.
Theme Tie for President Craig
Martha Greene kindly presented me with a Rotary Theme Tie which she and Jon acquired at the Rotary International Convention in Houston, Texas.  Although I am still keeping cool with summer attire, I look forward to sporting the new tie when our weather cools down in the fall.  Thank you Martha and Jon!
