Jon Greene introduced our speaker last week, Nikki Landa.  She is a fifth generation Nevadan who informed us of the benefits of The Center for Adaptive Riding.  https://www.adaptiveriding.org/

Founded in 2007, the center has a Therapeutic Horseback Riding Program for those with disabilities and Horsemanship for Heroes for veterans and active-duty service members.

 

Back by popular demand - Foodbank of Northern Nevada Project!

 

We all had a great time sorting food donations at the Foodbank of Northern Nevada in June 2022, so I have reserved a date to return and help them out again this year. 

 

Please mark your calendars for March 18, 2023.  It is only a 2 hour commitment which I think you will find fun and rewarding.

The Area 8 Foundation Dinner will be held on March 24 at the Nugget Casino Resort.  All members have received an invitation email.  If you didn't receive one, please let me know.

 

The speaker for the event will be Irene Perbal.  Perbal is the subject of the short film, "Irene Perbal - Of Hope and Hate" capturing the memory and message she has shared virtually her entire life.  As a girl in Amsterdam, she survived the Nazi occupation, surveillance, Allied bombing and the Hongerwinter of 1945.

In addition, we will honoring clubs and members for their achievements over the past year.  This is a nice time to socialize with members throughout Area 8.
