Pat Hickey Is a columnist for the Reno Gazette Journal, a former member of the Nevada State Legislature and an author.  He has recently published "Here and Hereafter; Nevada Voices on Life and the Great Beyond."

 

His book was based upon interviews obtained during the COVID-19 lockdown period.  He turned to a cross section of notable Nevadans to explore their thoughts on the questions: Do we have life after we die?  If so, what kind of life.  He interviewed a spectrum of Nevadans - men and women, religious believers and non-believers, some famous, some less known, a mixture of ethnic backgrounds, lifestyles and vocations.  

 

In his presentation, he offered some tantalizing tidbits about the thoughts of Harry Reid, Mike Tyson, Brian Sandoval and Jon Ralston.

 

 

Ed Basl was able to attend the March 13 fundraiser at Huffaker Elementary School.  Their parent teachers association were raising funds for physical education, arts and music, which are self-funded school activities.  As a club, we are in the process of approving a grant from our club's charitable foundation (more to follow).

 

Their next fundraiser will be held on April 12 and we will have one of their members speak to the club on April 11.
