Ma'Kayla Porter spoke about the mentor program available at Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.  Mentors (a.k.a. "Bigs") spend 4-6 hours per month with their matched "little", spending time, not money, to support, empower, and encourage our youth.  The goals of the program are to increase enrollment in educational programs, employment and enlistment.  You can find out more ways to become involved at https://www.bbbs.org/

Berry Courtney provided a wonderful display to mark the arriving Veteran's Day.

 

Dan Waters read a tribute to Lt. Aken of Reno, Nevada who was killed in the line of duty during a battle in France only days before the Armistice Agreement was signed.  The tribute came from a rare copy of "The Golden Book."
