David's Final Days
David Geddes was almost giddy when he informed us that his last meeting will be his demotion coming Friday morning at the Atlantis.  He has done a great job and we will all miss his Kiwi accent at the microphone!
Charlie Nahorniak's Vocational Background
Charlie gave a brief personal background for the membership.  He was born in Sparks, Nevada and after high school went into the construction trade.  During the lean years after the 2008 financial collapse, he moved to Seattle where he obtained a degree in Construction Management.  He now works for an excellent construction firm in Reno.  He is busy with work and family (3 daughters aged 28, 5 and 1).  He is an excellent addition to our club!
Last Week's Speaker - Tim Johnston
Tim Johnston, Vice President of Outreach for the Better Business Bureau, informed us how the Better Business Bureau can serve us.

The BBB was started in 1912 to promote truth in advertising and trustworthy business practices.  Not only can you see if a business is accredited by them, but you can see reports from customers, lodge a complaint, and even assess charities.

2. Cryptocurrency

Swill is around the bend!
Our first meeting at Swill Coffee and Wine will be held July 8, 2022.  Doors open at 7 am and the official meeting will begin at 7:30 am, giving plenty of time to grab drink and food, socialize, and find a table.

It is important that we DO NOT rearrange the furniture.  This creates extra work for the staff to get everything back in place for regular customers.  We are getting a special rate and I ask that everyone express their gratitude.

Oliver is our barista.  She is very friendly and efficient.  If we would like, we can set up an order in advance to make sure your favorite food item is stocked for the meeting.

We will do our best to make the meetings enjoyable and successful.  If you have any constructive ideas for me, please pass them on.  See you next month!

Rotary Multi-Club Social
The Basl's, Hill's and Sande's joined the Rotary Club of Reno and members of other clubs at The Depot Craft Brewery & Distillery June 16.

We socialized downstairs and enjoyed a raffle with two lucky winners in our group.  Then we moved into the dining area for a nice meal and conversation.  My wife says I need to step it up in terms of travel plans after hearing of the Basl & Hill Adventures.

New Board Member Retreat
A retreat for the new Board of Directors of Rotary Club of Reno Sunrise met at the Sande's home June 18.  The weather was a bit uncooperative, so we had to retreat indoors.  It was a very productive meeting that generated many great ideas which will be shared with membership at the first meeting of the new fiscal year, July 8, 2022.
