We gathered for our final meeting at the Atlantis Casino to thank David Geddes for his strong leadership during challenging times. He took over from Shawn Stoddard in the midst of the pandemic. He was able to continue Shawn's work to regroup and resume the club's important work, both in our local community and in the international arena. His sense of humor and warmth were infectious and brought calm to a challenging situation. As a result, Craig Sande now has a solid base to work with in order to continue club growth and impact. Thank you David!!
As a parting gesture for his excellent service to our club over the years, David took a collection and presented Alonso with a token of our appreciation. His service has always been exemplary and we extended an invitation for him to be our guest anytime at Swill Coffee and Wine.
Today I received the bell, gavel and Presidential Collar/Pendant from David Geddes. I would like to remind membership that our next meeting will be at Swill Coffee and Wine on July 8, 2022. The doors open at 7 am, so please order your food and drink, then move into the adjacent meeting room. We will start the meeting promptly at 7:30 am. I look forward to seeing everyone to kick off the year in full stride. Remember to "Rise and Shine!" I will see you next on July 8 if you don't get the chance to make the Purple Parrot Gathering on July 1.
Lynn Clark kindly assisted me with the testing and adjusting our new PA system and presentation screen connection at Swill Coffee and Wine on Monday, June 27. He is transferring to our club from the Rotary Club of Woodland Sunrise and will be officially inducted on July 8.
The Rotary Club of Reno Sunrise is hosting a family-oriented evening of miniature golf for fun and to raise funds for both local youth services and international projects. We have reserved one of the 19-hole miniature golf courses at Magic Carpet Golf for the event . The evening will include friendly competition, camaraderie and food available for purchase from Wok and Roll's Food Truck. We will be having a raffle to benefit local youth services, such as Eddy House, and international projects, such as the Columbia Water Filter Project. All proceeds will go to the Rotary Club of Reno Sunrise Charitable Foundation. Rotarians and general public are welcome.
