President Craig introduced Steve Schroeder at last week's meeting.  Steve had recently submitted his application for membership with Reno Sunrise Rotary Club.  He has a background in finance and retired from Gastroenterology Consultants last year.  He has an interest in participating in our events and giving back to his community.  At our board meeting on June 19, 2023 he was unaminously approved for membership which will become active July 1, 2023. 

 

Achievement Beyond Obstacles program provides scholarship and training to deserving high school students who have triumphed over personal challenges.  The accepted students are provided courses in financial literacy and effective communication, as well as scholarships ranging in size from $500 to $3,500.  It has been very successful in helping these motivated students achieve their goals.

Past President David Geddes has organized a demotion party for President Craig this coming Friday morning.  We look forward to welcoming incoming President-Elect Lynn who will take over the gavel.   Please contact David for additional information, if needed.
