The Ionizers

Today's presentation was by The Ionizers, a local 501(c)(3) non-profit FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) team based in Reno, Nevada.

The team operates under the FIRST® organization’s philosophies of “Gracious Professionalism®” and “Coopertition®,” which emphasize respect, hard work, and mutual assistance even during competition. Through this program, students gain hands-on experience in engineering, business, design, fabrication, and marketing.

The Ionizers operate on a $64,000 budget funded by local technology businesses and individual donations.

Night At The Library

Huffaker had a Night At The Library.  Activities included a local-to-Reno author meet and greet, library scavenger hunt, book walk, art and craft activities, Photo Booth, book signing, story time, Blind Date with a Book, and a chance to win a bike.

Members of our club participated by staffing the “quiet room” for the children to relax and color cartoons.

Cara assisting students create their own comic strips.
