Martha and Jon are members of the Rotary E-club Travelers and joined other members for a trip to Columbia.  They visited Bogota, Medellin, and Cartagena.  One special focus was seeing progress with the Agua Para Todo home water bio-filtering units.  Our club donated $2,500 to the project which totaled $94,800.  These home water treatment devices will provide clean water to families in need.  Each unit is contructed, installed and monitored by locally trained technicians and can be simply renewed every 5 years or so.

Please remember to bring food for the Rotary Food Drive this Friday morning.  You may refer to last week's bulletin for a complete list, but basically canned food (meat, fruit, vegetables, shelf stable milk), peanut butter, and grains are acceptable.  NO GLASS JARS, PERISHABLE, OR EXPIRED FOOD.

 

Steve Schroder had a chance to meet Javale McGee at the Nevada versus UNLV Men's Basketball Game last Saturday night.  Nevada beat UNLV for the second time this season by a score of 75-65.

 

Note the impressive rings on JaVale's left hand.  He played for Nevada from 2006-2008, then went on to play for the NBA.  He is a 3-time NBA Champion - two timnes with the Golden State Warriors and then one time with the Los Angeles Lakers.  He also won a gold medal with the 2020 U.S. Olympic team.

 

Steve Schroder had a little taken off the top at The Rock Bald for St. Baldrick's Foundation event.  They raise funds to fight childhood cancer.  Looking good Steve!
