Last week Cara introduced our speaker, Ken Moser, who is a member of the Julia C Bulette Chapter of E Clampus Vitus.  This is a fraternal organization with roots in the gold rush era.  There present goal is preservation of the heritage of the Western United States, especially the history of the Mother Lode and gold mining regions.

 

There are multiple chapters throughout the west.  They are best known for the plaques they place at historical sites.
