The United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra

Michael Brazier serves as the CEO and President of United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra (UWNNS). He leads staff and volunteers toward having a measurable impact on the organization's 12 counties, Carson City, and Lake Tahoe Basin service area. Under Michael's leadership, UWNNS secured funding to plan and launch the United Readers program, which will focus on developing literacy of children birth to age eight. Before joining UWNNS, Michael spent over ten years in fundraising leadership roles in national health organizations, including leading digital fundraising efforts at the American Cancer Society and leading the national walk program at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Since 2008, over $60 million has been raised under Michael's leadership. Michael holds a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Master of Business Administration; furthermore, he has a certificate on a strategic approach to corporate social responsibility.
