The Washoe County School District Superintendent, Susan Enfield, was our speaker last Friday. She provided information on the state of the district and some of the challenges faced. For example, the starting salary of a new teacher is about $42,000, which means that the teacher may qualify for subsidized housing.
Dr. Enfield described the goals of the district and discussed the "District Promise" statement.
