Nevada Division of Emergency Management by Brett D. Compton

Brett D. Compton,Chief of the Nevada Division of Emergency Management, spoke to the club this morning.

He said the main directive is to help people in our community before, during and after a disaster.

This requires coordination of federal and state homeland security and emergency management programs.

We all need to play a part by being prepared for a disaster.  Current recommendations are to have enough food and water to get by for 30 days in case of a disaster.  Most of us are unable to do that presently.

To learn more about how you can prepare for a disaster, go to https://dem.nv.gov/ and select "Plan Ahead Newvada."
