In past years we have had an Angel Tree holiday project for Virginia Palmer.  However, this year the project is being provided by a local church group.  We also have an ongoing Happy Feet project for the school, but their stock of available shoes for at-risk students has dwindled and it is time to re-stock.

 

Kohl's in Carson City has been working with Carolyn Abend and can offer us discounted shoes to purchase.  Most likely the purchase will be made in January after we determine our spending limit.

 

Since we won't have an Angel Tree project this year,  please consider a donation to the Rotary Club of Reno Sunrise Charitable Foundation earmarked for the Happy Feet project.  You may bring a check made out to "RCRSCF" with "Happy Feet" in the reference line to the meeting, mail a check to PO Box 11456, Reno, NV 89510, or donate with a credit card using the following link: 

 

Jim Van Winkle received a letter of thanks regarding Reno Sunrise Rotary Club's well drilling project in Kasoa, Ghana for the Our Lady of Holy Cross School.  Since 2008 the school has grown from 100 students in Nursery to 1st Grade to 1000+ students in Nursery to 9th Grade.  I have included a short thank you video which is well worth viewing.  Our club's efforts have certainly made an impact for these young minds!

 

Attention All Members:  If you haven't done so already, please sign up and attend the annual Holiday Party which we are holding at John Albrecht's home.  It will be held on Friday, December 16, at 6 pm.  Also, I would appreciate a few volunteers to tidy up before we leave.  This should only take a few minutes to accomplish with 5 people.
